Consultation – Proposal of Memorial Garden Edgewell Old Cemetery
Prudhoe Town Council, in collaboration with Prudhoe Community Partnership, is dedicated to enhancing our local environment and improving public spaces. We are pleased to announce a joint initiative to enhance the environment of the Edgewell Old Cemetery through the development of a memorial garden situated in the area North of the Chapel. This project will involve the planting of flowerbeds featuring native perennial plants, alongside the sowing of wildflower seeds.
The primary objectives of this project are to beautify the cemetery, create a tranquil space for reflection and remembrance, and support local wildlife, including birds, bees, and butterflies. To ensure that this initiative aligns with the needs and preferences of the community, we seek to gather input from local residents before proceeding.
Purpose of the Consultation:
The purpose of this public consultation is to gather feedback and suggestions from the residents of Prudhoe regarding the proposed memorial garden at Edgewell Road Cemetery. Your input is invaluable in guiding our decisions and ensuring the creation of a space that is both visually pleasing and ecologically beneficial. We invite you to share any ideas or concerns you may have so that they can be appropriately addressed.
How to Get Involved:
Residents are encouraged to submit written comments via email to Prudhoe Town Council at info@prudhoetowncouncil.gov.uk by Friday, 13 September 2024.
Following the consultation period, all feedback will be carefully reviewed and considered. The findings will be presented at the Ordinary Meeting of Prudhoe Town Council in September, where a proposal on how to proceed will be discussed, subject to the community’s reception of the garden plans.
