Local Talent Scores Place at Newcastle United Emerging Talent Centre Under 9’s
Girls’ Emerging Talent Centres was launched in July 2022 with the hope that the first 60 centres (Newcastle United Foundation being one) will see the number of young female players engaged in FA programmes across the country rise from 1722 to over 4200 by the end of the 2023-24 season.
The funding has come from the Premier League’s latest domestic broadcast rights package, which the Government signed off last year under the proviso that an additional £100 million must be invested over the next four years in a number of key areas across football, including the development of the women’s and girls’ game.
Elli Newton has been selected for Newcastle United Foundation ETC (Emerging Talent Centre) U9s; the youngest age group out of four categories.
Over 600 children trialled for spaces in the centre across 4 age groups U9, U10, U11 and U12, with only 16 in each age group getting a place, this a direct pathway towards playing for Newcastle United Women.
Huge congratulations from Prudhoe Town Council for an amazing achievement Elli and kick-start to your football journey.
