Residents wishing to stand as candidates must submit nomination papers between 10am and 4pm on working days from today until the deadline of 4pm on Wednesday 2nd April 2025.
Nomination papers can be delivered to the Returning Officer at the following locations:
- Ground Floor Elections Office, County Hall, Morpeth – Available on any working day from today until the nomination deadline (excluding bank holidays)
- Lindisfarne Centre, Alnwick – Available on working days from Monday 24th March to Tuesday 1st April 2025
- Berwick Library, Berwick-upon-Tweed – Available on working days from today until the nomination deadline (excluding bank holidays)
- Queens Hall, Hexham – Available on working days from today until the nomination deadline (excluding bank holidays)
KEY DEADLINES FOR VOTERS:
- Voter Registration Deadline: Friday 11th April 2025 (by midnight)
- Postal Vote Application Deadline: Monday 14th April 2025 (by 5pm)
- Voter ID (Voter Authority Certificate) Application Deadline: Wednesday 23rd April 2025 (by 5pm)
- Proxy Vote Application Deadline: Wednesday 23rd April 2025 (by 5pm)
- Emergency Proxy Vote Application Deadline: Thursday 1st May 2025 (by 5pm)
The publication of the notice of those person nominated, i.e. those who have successfully put themselves forward as candidates, will be shared on Thursday 5th April, by 4pm. The publication of polling stations will be made on Wednesday 23rd April.
Residents are reminded that voter ID is required to vote at polling stations. Those without acceptable photo ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate.
