Free Family Swimming at Prudhoe Waterworld – It was Splash-tastic !

Prudhoe Town Council is pleased to announce the success of its summer free family swim sessions, which provided a splash-tastic experience for young people and their families at Prudhoe Waterworld.

Launched in August and supported by Places Leisure, this initiative offered free swimming opportunities during the summer holidays on the Sundays of the 11th, 18th, and 25th. The community’s response was overwhelmingly positive, with families enjoying valuable time together. Each session included 30 minutes dedicated to learning essential water safety knowledge, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience, followed by 30 minutes of engaging splash-tastic water activities designed for all ages.

Mayor of Prudhoe Town Council, Councillor Angie Scott, expressed her delight at the turnout; “We are thrilled with the response and proud to support families during what can be a costly time when entertaining children over the long summer break.”

The Town Council extends its heartfelt thanks to Places Leisure and the staff at Prudhoe Waterworld for their support and cooperation in making these sessions possible.

Chair/Mayor Angie Scott added “This initiative has been a wonderful success, and we hope to offer similar sessions in Summer 2025.”
