Upcoming Elections 2021 being held on 6th May – Town Council and County Council seats

Elections and Voting

Northumberland has ‘all out’ elections for all County Council and Town Council seats, including the Police and Crime Commissioner.

If you are not already registered to vote, you can do so using the Register to Vote link below:

You can still register for a postal vote for these elections, up to 5:00pm on Tuesday 20th April 2021.  Do not delay if you wish to exercise your right to vote by post.  You can register using the form linked below:

Nominations and Candidates (Town Council Elections)

Prudhoe Town Council is served by 15 Town Councillors in the following wards.  Nomination Papers to stand in each ward are available by clicking on the ward below.  If you require a printed copy, you can request this from the Town Council office.  The number of seats in each ward is given in brackets:

Nomination Papers for those interested in standing for Election must be hand delivered to the Elections Office at Hexham or County Hall.  Appointments can be booked to have papers checked; this is recommended and can be done using the link below:

Polling

If there are more nominations than seats available in any given ward, there will be an election in that ward, with polling on 6th May.  If there are the same number of nominations as seats available in any given ward, there will not be an election and candidates will be ‘elected unopposed’ on 9th April 2021.

County Council Elections

Northumberland County Council seats are also up for election on 6th May 2021, 67 seats in total, three for Prudhoe & Mickley.  Those County Councillor Seats that serve Prudhoe Town Council wards are:

Prudhoe North (serving Castlefields and Low Prudhoe, Castle and Eltringham and Prudhoe West and Halfway)

Prudhoe South (serving Prudhoe Hall and West Wylam)

Stocksfield and Broomhaugh (serving Mickley)
